Even though Priyanka Chopra Jonas had a wedding that spanned days and three receptions in her home country of India, that wasn't always the plan. On a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the newlywed revealed where she originally wanted to tie the knot.

“I wanted to get married in some private island away from everything,” she said. “We were really stressed out about it because we thought Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius, whatever and nothing was working out, how we would fly everyone, logistics.”

It was eventually her husband, Nick Jonas, who had the bright idea. Chopra Jonas continued, “This was in Mumbai, and Nick just says, 'Why aren't we doing this in India? Shouldn't I be taking my bride from her home?'”

As we now know, Jonas's suggestion was the direction the couple went in. “And when he said that I was just like, oh, well in India it just becomes like a thing then because I know a gazillion people,” she said.

Hence their nearly $500,000 wedding. Now that the couple is starting to wind down after what Jonas would call their 10,0047th wedding reception, they are settling into married life, which Chopra Jonas is still getting used to.

“The gravity of it. It's like a big deal,” Chopra Jonas said of her new last name. “I didn't realize it was that much of a big deal till I did it.”

Chopra Jonas, who wore a bridal-worthy embellished white suit to the show, told Fallon there was never a discussion about her not taking her husband's name. "No, I always wanted to add his name to mine because I feel like we're becoming family, and I'm a little traditional and old-school like that,” she said. “But I don't take away my identity. He gets added to who I am."

But maybe she will still pick up a thing or two from her hubby? Now that they both share her New York home and his Los Angeles one, she admits that Jonas's home is much better. "So the coffee machine doesn't work, the air conditioning makes some sounds,” Chopra Jonas said of her own pad. “ It's cute, my house is beautiful, but nothing works. And everything in Nick's house is immaculate. Like his alarms work. My alarms never work! My doorbell doesn't work."

We imagine “Prick”-the couple name Chopra Jonas settled on-will be spending most of their days in L.A.
